I adore bagels, especially the big, savory bagels that are native to the streets of NYC.
It’s been a few years since my last trip to the city, but I still remember the savory goodness of my authentic New Yorker breakfast. With hopes of recreating a bagel worth smearing, I have been eyeing this recipe from The Sophisticated Gourmet.
Though the whole idea of kneading the dough and letting it rise can be quite intimidating, I just got a jar of Trader Joe’s Pumpkin Butter in the mail all the way from California. My Aunt Janet & cousin RJ know me entirely too well. Thus, these monstrously huge bagels needed baking and my sweet & savory pumpkin butter needed smearing.
