Crispy waffles made an appearance on our menu this weekend.
Jake is a huge fan of waffles, though he prefers to keep things classic and simple. I, on the other hand, love flavored syrups and recipes with all the extra trimmings. What about you–how do you do waffles?
Here are a few recipes that are worthy for the weekend:
Simple Maple Syrup
1 c. sugar
1 c. water
4 cap-fulls of pure maple extract
In a medium saucepan on low heat, let the sugar dissolve into the water. Stir occasionally with a wooden spoon. The sugar will dissolve within 4-5 minutes. At that point, add in the maple extract, and remove from heat. Cover the maple syrup to keep warm until serving.
