Fall Flowers at the Flower Patch . . .
I spent an afternoon at the Flower Patch, learning how the pros go about picking fall flowers. The autumn season brings a fresh set of florals. Here are a few tips, tricks and trends to get your DIY arrangements started.
Floral trends this season tend toward saturated tones, earthy accents and layers of texture. You’ll want to keep this in mind as you pick out flowers at your local flower market. When it comes to buying roses, stick to fuchsia and orange hues for a punch of color. Sunflowers make the perfect focal point of an arrangement–they like the attention that comes from being the largest flower in the bunch. And button poms, cattails or sprigs of wheat make fitting fillers for fall bouquets.
