Basic hair care secrets . . .
I’m so excited to kick off my new ‘Hair Care Secrets’ series. A couple times a month, I’ll be sharing my go-to products, haircare tips and everyday tutorials. Today’s post is all about the basis–five things that can either make or break your head of hair.
Wear a Hat: Don’t forget your hat if you’re headed outside. Whipping wind, freezing temps and dry climates can leave you with tangles and damaged ends. The less exposure to the elements, the better. Fedoras, felt hats, beanies and ball caps are very trendy this season. It’s function meets fashion.
Deep Condition: Cold weather can leave your locks feeling dry and brittle. Let’s be honest, split ends aren’t a girl’s best friend. The best way to combat damage is to treat your hair once a week with a deep conditioner. You can make an appointment at a local salon or DIY it at home. Phytokeratine Repair Mask is easy to use and leaves your hair moisturized and silky smooth.
Ditch the Heat: Damaged hair? Now’s the perfect time to ditch your blow dryer, straightener or curling iron. Trade the hot tools for an air-dried do, and your hair will thank you. With the right products, styling is a cinch. Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray gives your hair a textured, seaside look without the harm of heat.
Moisturize with Oil: If you do use your tools, make sure to apply a 100% Pure Agran Oil first. Simply rake a dime sized amount through the ends of wet hair, and style as planned. Combined with the heat of your tools, the oil will hydrate and add extra shine. The oil is also known to help make coarse, damaged hair feel smooth again.
Drink Water + Eat Well: A well balanced diet is key to looking your best. Things like fruits, vegetables and water help to keep your cells hydrated. And hydrated cells are what make a healthy head of hair. Experts recommend consuming 6-8 glasses of water a day, but it is important to remember that each body has different dietary needs.
