Fitness tips that keep me going . . .
Today, I’ve teamed up with Kohl’s to talk workout wear and five ways to stay motivated.
#1 Get the gear. A good sports bra can either make or break your workout. This high impact style by Nike seamlessly transitions from circuit training to hot yoga. The fit is worth bragging about, and it comes in multiple colors. What’s not to love?
#2 Pump up the jams. When I’m running sprints, I like to listen to techno remixes of pop hits. The upbeat tempo helps me escape fatigue and focus on something other than my breathing. Dubstep is also a good option (if you’re a fan of the ’90s).
#3 Make a plan & stick to it. I have a routine with set types of workouts for each day. While my cardio sessions are more flexible, I do specific body weight exercises every M, W, F. This ensures that I stay on track and hit all my target areas throughout the week.
#4 Chart your workouts. If your a list maker like me, you’ll love charting your exercise progress. At the end of each workout, I record what I did and for how long. It’s so fulfilling to look back to the beginning of the week and see what I accomplished.
#5 Celebrate the wins. It’s hard to stay motivated, set goals and stick with it. When you do reach a milestone, a little celebration is more than necessary. I like to reward myself with fitness gear because it gets me excited to keep going. Some good picks might be a yoga mat, a set of weights or a fitness tracker.
