Breakfast in Portland . . .
We recently found ourselves in the Pacific Northwest–Oregon to be exact. Thankfully, we made time to see the sights and visit a few local favorites. Have you been to Pine State Biscuits? My soul food-loving heart nearly exploded when I read their menu. Believe me when I say that their southern style biscuits hit all the right notes.
They specialize in making fluffy, buttery brown biscuits that pair perfectly with homemade gravy. The combination instantly takes me back to Saturday mornings in Mississippi. The environment is cozy, and the food is comforting–there really is no better way to brunch. We ordered The Reggie (most popular sandwich on the menu) and the Hash Ups, with a side of bacon and an extra fried egg to split. To top things off, a slice of made-from-scratch pecan pie was an absolute must. If you’re ever in Portland, brave the line + order The Reggie. These southern style biscuits don’t disappoint.
