Alamexo lunch date . . .
My favorite dates always include tacos, homemade tomatillo salsa and fresh guacamole. This eatery in downtown Salt Lake City serves up just that + a good bit more.
Alamexo was the perfect place for a leisurely lunch. We arrived around 11:30, just before the local crowd, and had the place to ourselves. This left plenty of time to chat with our waiter about the impressive lunch menu.
We started with their signature Guacamole en Molcajete. It comes with chips and salsa, and it’s prepared at your table with fresh ingredients and to your spiciness preference. Two thumbs up + SO incredibly delicious. You’ll definitely want an order of this to share.
Next up came an order of Carne Asada Tacos and a traditional torta. I can’t say enough good things about the food–the flavor combinations are bold and delicious, and the servings are more than generous. We left the restaurant with takeout boxes that easily made a second meal. There’s absolutely nothing bad about that.
Anyone want to meet for Mexican food?

These are really cool pictures! My husband always gets a little annoyed when I take pictures of out food, but how can a person resist when food looks this good? Good call beating the crowd! It’s much more fun getting lunch when you feel more secluded. Thank you for sharing, now I’m craving guacamole!
