Lunch at Husk . . .
Lunch at Husk Restaurant was one of the highlights from my recent trip to Charleston. It’s been on my to-eat-at list for quite some time, and I’m thrilled to say that dining for one never tasted so good.
After a bit of research, I learned that their menu changes daily depending on what’s in season and available from local suppliers. This shouldn’t come as a surprise. All the best restaurants like to change things up. It’s a great way to introduce fresh ingredients in new and unexpected ways. However, one thing is for certain. If it’s on the menu at Husk Restaurant, it’s definitely going to be southern.
I stuck with the classics and ordered a plate of their Shrimp and Edisto Grits. It comes topped with smoked tomato bisque, roasted pepper, onion and charred corn. Paired with a homemade roll + freshly whipped butter, the meal was everything I hoped it’d be. It was so delicious that my pitter-pattering, Mississippi girl heart could have exploded.
So, the moral of the story? As soon as you book your ticket to Charleston, make a lunch reservation at Husk. I’m willing to bet that, just like me, you’ll want to lick your plate clean.
