Leather jacket time . . .
This time of year, I like to keep a few key transitional pieces at the front of my closet. The weather can be a bit unpredictable, hitting high 70s during the day and cooling down to 50s once the sun sets. It’s ideal for light jacket wearing.
To combat the changing temps, I’ve stuck with my go-tos. This classic white tee is an easy layer to wear now on it’s own, and I can see myself pairing it with a chunky wool cardigan once the temperature really dips. Plus, it comes in multiple colors.
Let’s talk denim. I can’t say enough good things about this selvedge pair of jeans–the cut is slightly slouchy and the dark wash feels flattering. Style them now with wedges, or pair them later with an ankle boot. The transition into fall couldn’t look better.
I like to top it all off with leather. My mom gave me this jacket six years ago, and I’ve worn it year round since. At first, I was hesitant about the price tag, but now I’m a firm believer that quality is worth every penny. You definitely get what you pay for, and this type of transitional piece tends to get better with age.
Do you have a leather jacket? What transitional pieces do you swear by?

I would love a jacket like that! I tend to lean more towards sweaters due to my chest size making jackets fit awkwardly. I tend to wear long sleeved shirts year round, but this is the time when I can finally leave the sleeves down!

I completely agree, Christen. The fall weather is a welcomed sight! I’m currently 29 weeks pregnant and am having a hard time zipping up my favorite jackets. I refuse to let it keep me from adding them as an outfit accessory of sorts!
