Pumpkin spice baked donuts . . .
Looking to make an easy treat? These donuts call for a few pantry staples and take just 30 minutes to bake. Plus, they’re covered in spiced glaze + cinnamon-sugar. It’s time to pour a tall glass of milk. Your morning routine just got a whole lot sweeter.
I purchased this nonstick donut pan just after getting married, and I tend to whip it out on weekends. I always love how rustic the donuts look, especially when coated with sugar. Paired with bacon and eggs, they’re the perfect addition to your next brunch spread.

Ingredients
Scale
- 1 box spice cake mix
- 1 15 oz. can of pumpkin puree
- 1/2 c. water
- 2 c. powdered sugar
- 1/4 c. milk
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1 tsp. pumpkin spice seasoning
- 3 tbs. granulated sugar
- 1 tbs. ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
- Grease a donut baking pan with vegetable oil and set aside.
- In a large bowl, combine the box of spice cake mix with the can of pumpkin puree. Pour the mixture into each of the donut spaces of the greased baking pan. You’ll only want to fill them 3/4 the way full.
- Bake at 350 for 30 minutes. The baked donuts should be firm to the touch. Remove the donuts from the oven, and place them on a wire rack to completely cool.
- In a small saucepan, whisk together the powdered sugar and milk over low heat. The glaze should slowly start to thicken after a couple minutes. Remove the glaze from the heat, and stir in the vanilla extract and pumpkin spice seasoning. Set the glaze aside to check on the donuts.
- If the donuts are completely cool, dip the top of each into the glaze, and set them back on the wire rack.
- Mix the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon in a small bowl. Generously sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar on top of each glazed donut.
- Eat immediately or let the toppings completely set.
Notes
- For easy cleanup: set the wire rack on top of a baking sheet to collect any of the excess glaze or cinnamon-sugar that comes off the donuts.
