Mom styles . . .
As a new mom, there are a few things I’ve quickly learned. One, being that little hands like to pull on any and everything in sight. This means that my current hairstyle of choice is pulled up and away. Here are a few chic ways I’m planning to make it work for days spent out and about.
Tied in a Scarf
This look feels youthful in all the right ways. I love the idea of using vintage-inspired satin scarves. They would add a fun pop of color and a functional way of keeping hair tucked away. These bandanas would work perfectly–fold them in half or a diagonal (depending on the size) and tie them at the crown of your head.
Side Part + Twisted Up
Paired with a retro cat eye, it’s a ‘do that channels Hollywood starlets of old. I can see this style easily transitioning from a day at home with the baby to a night out for a date. All you need are a few sturdy bobby pins and black liquid liner.
Romantic Low Braid
When it comes to braids, I tend to stick with the classics. Pulling a few strands forward in front adds visual interest and frames your face. I also like the idea of keeping the braid low by starting just above your ears.
Everyday Top Knot
It’s a no fail solution that requires very little time or effort. Really, what’s not to love about a top knot? Add a (faux) leather jacket, a pair of oversized sunglasses and a scarf to look instantly chic.
Sassy Ponytail
I’ve gushed about my love for ponytails in the past, and I’m adding this style to my list. It’s feminine, flirty and has just the right amount of sass. The key is starting with a healthy dose of volume and a good tease.
