Patriotic outfit ideas . . .
One of the best things about summer is the lineup of holidays. I love any excuse to grill hot dogs, celebrate with sparklers and dress in red, white + blue. Cue the breezy summer dresses and light layers for firework shows once the sun goes down–they’re the mainstay of my patriotic outfit ideas.
I’ve rounded up a few chambray styles with fun and flirty details. You can easily dress them up or down, depending on the occasion. If you’re headed to an outdoor BBQ, add some shoes with a chunky heel. I love this pair of leather clogs! Need a purse? Why not opt for an oversized straw tote. It’s the perfect place to stash a light sweater, your picnic blanket, a few sweet treats and some bug spray.
As for your mini me, I’ve found some of the cutest toddler dresses and rompers this season at Gap. Mary Jane likes to wear them with her favorite sneakers so she can play to her heart’s content. The combination is cute and easy, two things that make parenting an active toddler as stress free as possible.
How are you celebrating the 4th of July + what will you be wearing?

Chambray is perfect for 4th of July! You and Mary Jane look like you’re ready to eat up some hot dogs! We are actually flying on the 4th of July so I opted for a pair of jeans, my NASA shirt and new Nikes.
