Probiotic yogurt to start the day . . .
Getting back on track after my second pregnancy hasn’t been the easiest. It’s hard to do everyday things like make myself healthy meals or sneak away to the gym. Thankfully, Activia® Strawberry Lowfat Probiotic Yogurt is a simple place to start. The Activia strawberry flavored 4-pack from Walgreens is the base of my favorite breakfast parfait. It tastes great, and it’s packed with billions of live and active probiotics.
At the beginning of each week, I like to make a list of quick and easy meal ideas that also suit my health and fitness goals. This is as close as I get to meal prepping. Maybe in the future when my little ones get older, I’ll be able to devote more time to it. Until then, my meal idea list tends to do the trick. Most mornings I kick things off with a yogurt parfait for breakfast. It’s both flavorful and filling–there’s no better way to start the day.
Here’s how I parfait:
I always use Activia Strawberry Yogurt as the first parfait layer because it’s filling and packed with probiotics. (FYI: You can find some at your local Walgreens in the refrigerated section.) Next, comes a layer for crunch. Think granola or whole-grain cereal. The third layer is for something fresh like seasonal fruit. I love adding strawberries, blueberries or a sliced banana. To top it all off, I add raw nuts for extra protein, unsweetened coconut flakes or chia seeds.
You could easily add additional layers to make your probiotic yogurt parfait more hearty or swap out the toppings depending on personal preferences. Mixing and matching possibilities really are endless.
