January 2019 to-do’s . . .
For 2019, I decided to join the Word of the Year club–take a peek at this Instagram post. I’m crossing my fingers that I can really embrace it, specifically when it comes to planning. That means these monthly roundups are going to look a little bit different. Rather than list the 10 things I personally want to check off my to-do list, I’m going to share a few ideas of things YOU can add to yours. So, grab a cuppa cocoa and your calendar. You’ll definitely want to pencil in a few of these.
#1 An Outdoor Winter Activity
Bundle up to go skiing, snow shoeing, sledding or ice skating.
#2 Add a Night of Self Care
Say hello to a fruity face mask + a serious binge of your favorite TV show. What are you watching lately?
#3 Learn How to Cook Something
Try making poached eggs, your favorite Thai food dish or a traditional Sunday roast. I love getting inspiration from America’s Test Kitchen. Their recipes are tried and true.
#4 Clean Out a Closet
Start in the very back and get rid of at least 15 unused/unwanted items. You could even resell them for a little bit of cash. I’ve had a lot of luck on Poshmark recently.
#5 Spice up Your Beauty Routine
Get a blunt chop, change your hair color or add a bold lip. The beginning of the year is the perfect time for a dramatic change.
#6 Organize the Pantry
There’s nothing worse than cluttered shelves of food. It’s time to sort those cans + sift through those spices. Anything you haven’t used in the last year should be donated or tossed!
#7 Meet Friends for a Mid-Week Lunch Date
Good food + good company make for a very good humpday.
#8 Throw Away that Old Makeup
Yes, it’s definitely time to get rid of a few things (this chart is handy). While you’re at it, you may as well do some organizing. I love arranging my makeup + beauty products in acrylic containers so I can easily see everything.
#9 Buy a Winter Accessory
In a wardrobe rut? This super cute scarf is a versatile under $50 fix.
#10 Try a New-to-You Class at the Gym
Think kickboxing, hot yoga or good-ole water aerobics. It’s the best way to shake things up. I’m anxious to try a high fitness class at our local gym. I hear it’s a fun way to sweat.
Do tell . . . What’s on your January to-do list?
