February to-do’s . . .
Hello, February! Hands down, this is my favorite month of the year. I love celebrating the people I love, and Valentine’s Day is at the top of the list. It’s also my birthday month . . . Bring on the cake! As for my plans, I’m still focusing on less. (I talked about it here, too.) It’s been a nice change of pace, both mentally + physically, and I’ve really enjoyed taking each day by day. So, here’s my casual list of festive and fun February things I’d do if I were you.
Heart Day Inspo
#1 Give Out Valentines
This isn’t just for kindergarten class. Grownups can definitely give out Valentines! I love the idea of handing out chocolate bars to coworkers or sending small care packages to your college besties. This roundup of Galentine’s Day gifts is cute, quirky and hits multiple price points. How adorable are the Mom + Mini friendship bracelets?
#2 Whip Up Something Sweet
These red-hot velvet brownies look really good, and I love an easy candy bar cake. Do you have any February go-to’s?
#3 Watch Your Favorite Romantic Comedy
Guys, there are a lot of good movies out there. If you’re a Hulu subscriber, they have an extensive list of romcoms currently available for streaming. Is Netflix your thing? Here’s a great lineup of romantic comedies, teen romances and epic romances–I’m a big fan of the ’80s picks.
#4 Treat Yourself to Something
Need a manicure? Do it. Want a venti hot chocolate with extra whipped cream? Drink it. Take yourself on a day date or stay in for a night of pampering. YOU really do deserve an occasional pick-me-up.
#5 Give Your Girlfriends a Call
This past week, I got to FaceTime one of my best friends from college. We both were tending babies + the call only lasted a few minutes, but it was still so nice just to catch up.
#6 Make Dinner for Someone You Love
Or, pick up takeout on your way home–Chinese food is always a good option. Don’t forget the chopsticks!
#7 Plan a Staycation or a Warm-Weather Getaway
Does anything sound better than sitting poolside right about now? I have my sights set on warm weather–there’s no better time to redeem those credit card points. BUT, a weekend spent playing tourist in your own city could be pretty fun, too.
#8 Dress in Red or Pink
Hear me out! While this does sound really cliche, I’ve found some unexpected options that could easily be worn again after February has come and gone. These heart pajama sets are perfect for breakfast in bed, while these peek-a-boo sneakers are all kinds fun. And, I love the sleeves on this top (it would be great for a day date!).
#9 Let Yourself Sleep In or Stay Up Late
Set your phone to airplane mode, and let yourself sleep in! You could also stay up late binging that new TV show. Either way, you’ll probably want to ditch the alarm the next morning.
#10 Purge Your Phone’s Contact List
Start in the A’s and delete any number without a full name (first + last), miscellaneous businesses, ex-boyfriends or old flames. There’s probably no reason to keep past colleagues or one-time roommates either. This ensures there’s no accidental text/call in the future. That could be embarrassing.
What’s on your to-do list this month?

Valentine’s Day is my absolute favorite! I had out handmade valentines to my coworkers every year – but I’m a teacher, so I guess that doesn’t sound too weird. My kids think it is so strange that I love v-day so much! But I can’t help it! I love that everything is pink and red and full of love, hehe! Great ideas for Valentine’s Day!

I love baking up something sweet around Valentine’s Day! My husband always says not to get him anything so the baked goods are his gift!
