A March to-do list . . .
It’s like we’ve rounded the corner, and we’re well into the new year. I can’t believe it’s already March. Where did February (my favorite month!) go? Time flies when you’re having fun. Let’s try to squeeze in as much as possible, without overdoing it of course. I’m still focusing on LESS–making less lists included. It’s been a good way to hit the reset button, but I just can’t let this series go. It’s the one list I’m ALLOWED to make. Grab a cold soda, your planner and a pen. Let’s kick off March with a fresh batch of ideas + things to-do.
# 1 Buy a Pair of Really Cute Joggers
I have a pair of black jogger pants, and I LOVE them. They’re perfect for spring. You can dress them up, sport ’em with sneakers or wear them while lounging around the house. Here are a few styles that fit the bill (less expensive to more): the Modal Jogger, the Movement Skinny, the Bliss Jogger and the Metro Street Jogger.
# 2 Say No to Tech in Bed
This is a tough one. But, after reading this article and others like it, I’ve decided that checking social media one last time isn’t worth it.
#3 Start Reading a Self-Help or Motivational Book
I recently started reading Mom Hacks by Dr. Darria Long Gillespie. Guys, I haven’t felt so motivated and empowered since I had Mary Jane. Her science backed tips are broken down into digestible hacks specifically with (exhausted + overworked) moms in mind. My favorite section is Part 4: Resilience. It tackles the mental and emotional stresses we face on a daily basis. If you’re looking for a new book, give this one a go.
# 4 Fix It, Replace It or Toss It
We all have that one broken thing laying around. You know, that lamp without a shade, a pair of pants missing a button or the toaster that just won’t toast right. Now is the time to do something about it.
# 5 Whip Up a Big Weekend Brunch
Brunch at Bobby’s on the Cooking Channel is one of my inspiration go-to’s. I love binging episodes while folding laundry–he makes breakfast food look so good! Here’s a roundup of Bobby’s best brunch recipes. His creative takes on classic French toast are always a favorite at our place.
#6 Wake Up 15 Minutes Earlier to Stretch
Experts say that stretching is a great way to start your day. I happen to think so, too. This 10 minute yoga flow is actually something I look forward to, even if I do have set my alarm a little bit earlier.
# 7 Explore Your Neighborhood
I’m a big fan of supporting local and small businesses, especially if they’re in my neighborhood. Branch out and try somewhere new! What about that deli down the street? Or the new coffee shop on the corner? It may very well end up being YOUR new spot.
# 8 Put 30 Minutes Towards a Goal
Set aside a 30 minutes each day to work towards a goal. This can be anything–things like 30 minutes of planning + prep, a walk during your lunch break or time spent listening to that how-to podcast.
# 9 Get Outside When the Weather is Nice
Over the years, scientists have been toying with the idea of a link between sunlight and happiness. This article in TIME is an interesting read. We may as well embrace our inner sun bum and err on the side of Hippocrates–he believed seasonal change + sunlight impacted health.
# 10 Swap Out Dark Clothes for Lighter Colors
It’s still snowing here in Utah, so don’t pack away your winter coats just yet. Instead, simply swap out a few of those dark colored things for some lighter ones. Think pastel sweaters, light wash jeans and fun printed accessories.
Spill the beans. What’s on your March to-do list?

Love this list!!! And I’m glad you haven’t let this series go 😉 I need to set my phone down when I get in bed, too!

Spring is the best! I’m trying to get outside each time the weather is nice. Last weekend we sat outside and it was about 65 degrees and sunny. So nice!

Wow I truly love your list! I’ve recently been putting down my phone at least 20 min before bed and it’s tremendously helped my sleep. A big weekend brunch sounds so exciting! And I’ve made it my goal to explore my neighborhood more while I’m at college in Lynchburg, VA. It’s a beautiful historic town so I definitely want to explore more of it! Hope you have a good, productive month of March. The year is flying fast! ?

I think you’ll enjoy the no tech in bed bit! Making our room a phone/technology-free zone really made a difference!
