A Palm Springs MCM home tour . . .
One of the highlights from our California getaway was equal parts research (for @ourmidmodreno) and tourist-y fun. Guys, I’m talking a Palm Springs MCM home tour. We got to tour five Mid-Century homes in the historic Indian Canyons Neighborhood. I’m not even exaggerating when I say that it was every bit as dreamy as it sounds. You can sneak a peek here.
While I loved elements of all the homes on the tour, this one in particular stood out to me. It’s known as the BESVECA House, named after the original owner’s seven children. This beauty was built in 1963 and has recently been renovated. Psst! You can rent this home via Airbnb.
The update felt warm, inviting and true to the era while still indulging in a few modern luxuries. Looking back at these photos, I’m realizing how much I love the cohesive and subtle use of color (hello, PINK!), those clean lines and the original stone floors. Oh, that lighting–it’s the perfect combination of minimal + showstopper.
Don’t get me started on the decor because I’ll go on forever. Let’s just sum things up with one word: TEXTURE. I’m talking velvet, leather, metal, shag, chunky knit, twill, natural stone and lots of wood. The mix and match nature is like music to my ears and hearts in my eyes. While I’m no professional, I’m crossing all my fingers that we can curate a space that’s just as interesting.
Are you a mid-century modern fan? What do you like about this home?

Mid-century modern decor is growing on me! I’ve always had a soft spot for vintage decor but lately I find myself gravitating towards mid-century pieces. So excited to see what you take for inspiration for your own home reno!
