A Dr. Seuss 1st Birthday party . . .
I can’t believe it–our littlest THING turned one this month. We celebrated with friends and family in true Dr. Seuss fashion, and all her friends went home with wayyy too much candy. My first attempt at stuffing a piñata was a beaming success. Basically, I learned more is always better, and I’m sure that the Cat in the Hat would agree.
The goal was lots of fun and completely fuss free. I sent digital invitations, reserved a pavilion at our favorite park, served ready-made picnic food and decorated with the brightest colored decorations I could get. It really was the perfect way to celebrate. All the kids (and dare I say parents!) had so much fun!
Baby Violet loved every second as the center of everyone’s attention. She gave out kisses, waved her hands during the “Happy Birthday” song and got to swing with friends at the playground. She’s the happiest one-year-old I know, and I am very lucky to be her mama. My heart feels like it might explode just looking at these snaps. Motherhood is the hardest thing I’ve ever done, but creating happy memories makes it all worth it. Violet’s Dr. Seuss 1st birthday party was definitely one for the books.

Planning a party?
I’ve rounded up similar Dr. Seuss party planning essentials. You can shop them by clicking the photos below. I purchased Mary Jane + Violet’s THING onesies from Universal Studios Orlando the day we found out we were pregnant with a second baby. Mary Jane had just turned one, and we were celebrating in Florida (you can read the Disney post here). My ‘Mother of All Things’ tee is also from Universal Studios, but I found a few similar styles that you can buy online. You can also shop my outfits by clicking the corresponding photos here.
Psst! The striped smash cake was a gift from our friends Ashley, Logan + Jack. Isn’t it THE CUTEST? Be sure to follow @kick_ash_cakes on Instagram to see more sugary perfection!
