A July to-do list . . .
Yep, this really is the best month of summer. I love kicking things off with 4th of July celebrations, long pool days, family BBQs and way more s’mores than I can count. You can bet we’ll be partying for all 30 days, trying to squeeze in as much as possible before the prime time sunshine runs out. Do you love this month like I do? What’s on your July to-do list? I’ve rounded up 10 things that might just make the cut.
Make a Berry Trifle
I love adding fresh fruit to my dessert during the warm weather months–it’s such a great way to add a pop of color to your menu. This semi-homemade, tri-berry trifle recipe by Tiffani Thiessen always hits the spot. It’s beautiful and delicious. But really, what more could you want?
Spend a Saturday in Nature
Fill your pack with granola bars and bug spray, and get outdoors. I’m talking a day spent among mountains, at the lake, hiking trails or picnicking at a national park. If you’re Utah local, my friend Gentri Lee has an incredible series about Utah’s famous scenic sights.
Organize the Pantry
I’m SO excited to move into our new house because it means I get a clean slate. I can’t wait to organize, sort and stock the kitchen. Here’s a peek at my kitchen organization wish list.
Don’t Forget Your Sunscreen
I’ve been making a conscious effort to apply sunscreen each morning before heading outside. It gives me peace of mind that my skin’s protected, and it prevents unnecessary sun damage from ‘aging’ the look + feel of my skin. My dermatologist said this is the single most important thing I can do every morning. I wrote more about it in this blog post.
Wear Something Red
I’m a firm believer that everyone needs a RED swimsuit. Scientists across the board tend to agree. I’ve rounded up 25 different styles with different body types, personalities and preferences in mind. You can read the post here.
Invest in New Workout Gear
Have you heard of enclothed cognition? This article via Shape explains that workout gear really does have an impact on the way you exercise. I’ve been eyeing a few of the longer style sports bras. They fit like a crop top and double as a tank when you wear them with high waisted leggings. I’m a big fan because they don’t get in the way while lifting weights. Ding Don’t Ditch with Cookies
There’s something exhilarating about a good ding dong ditch. It’s always been one of my favorite ways to deliver treats. So, whip up a BIG batch of these chocolate chip cookies to leave for an unsuspecting neighbor. We like to add a mix of white, semi-sweet and dark chocolate chips. The combination never disappoints.
Get Active During Your Lunch Break
I’ve been doing P90’s Ab Ripper X twice a week for a couple months now, and I love what it’s done to my abdominal muscles. This is a serious core workout that takes just 15 minutes. Win, win.
Take a Road Trip
Be it a few hours or a few states away, long rides in the car just feel like summer. Don’t forget to make a new playlist, and stop at the gas station for snacks!
Host a Backyard Picnic Party
It’ll be a few months until the landscaping at our new house is completed. In the mean time, I want to invite friends over for a low key, backyard picnic party. No fancy furnishings or menus are required. I’ll supply the burgers, pasta salad + blankets, and I’ll delegate the rest. Here are a few summer BBQ tips we swear by.
So, what’s on YOUR to-do list this month? Did I miss anything?

I love all of these! The ab workout is genius over a lunch break. Also that berry trifle looks amazing!
