My 2020 word of the year . . .
Looking back on the last year, I’ve realized that less really is more. Life with two toddlers has it’s fair share of variables, and I’m constantly wading through a sea of unexpected. It hasn’t been easy–I’ve learned how and when to simplify. The game of give and take has definitely decreased everyday stress, but it’s come at a cost. This is the year I give myself permission to start prioritizing myself again.
Don’t get me wrong. Motherhood has been one of the biggest blessings in my life. I love my girls fiercely with the type of love I never really knew existed. Choosing to care for them as a full time, stay at home mom has been the hardest yet most rewarding experience of my life. I’ve given my whole SELF to this venture, often sacrificing my own physical, mental and emotional needs for the greater good.
My word of the year for 2020 is SELF. This is something I’ve given a lot of thought to over the past few months. I want to focus on all aspects of the word, and I want to focus on rebuilding and reinforcing all aspects of myself. I also feel very strongly that this is the natural next step in my motherhood journey. If I’m not seeking to better my own SELF, who else will? I am my biggest advocate. I want to be my best SELF so I can be the best for them. It’s time to start looking out for ME again.
Over the course of the next year, I’m excited to start a new monthly series. It will highlight an aspect of SELF I’m working to develop. Here are a few topics I’d love to cover:
Tips for Journaling + Self Reflection
Ideas for Monthly Date Nights
Establishing Successful Morning Rituals
How to Set Fitness Goals You’ll Actually Attain
Navigating Relationships with Extended Family
Making SAHM-Approved Lunches
Basic Beauty Practices with Big Impact
Ways to Build New Friendships
This is where I need YOUR IMPUT. What would you like to see? Are there any aspects of SELF you’re hoping to improve in your own life? I’d love to hear what you think, what you need and what you’d like to see on Finding Beautiful Truth for 2020. Feel free to comment below or send me a message via my contact page.
This online community has been such a comfort to me. I know I’m not alone in this, and I know that YOU have great insights from your experience. Thank you for encouraging me, for continually sharing your light and love. It really does mean so much.
