Healthy things . . .
I’m back with the another round of five things I’m loving lately. You can read the first installment here. This time around I’m dishing dirt on health and fitness topics like my favorite workout shorts, the smoothie recipe I make on repeat and my current workout obsession. These healthy things are definitely making me happy. Keep on reading. I bet there’s something that’ll make your life a little bit happier and healthier, too.
ONE – I’ve been wearing and loving these workout shorts. They’re very flattering, made with breathable lightweight fabric and come in under $30. Be sure to read the reviews about sizing. I went up a size for a bit of extra length. You can see some of the colors available by clicking the photos below:
TWO – Smoothies and smoothie bowls are back in the routine. I’ve been making one every day for the past week, and I feel great. This strawberry banana recipe is one of my go-to’s. It’s quick, easy and packed with feel good ingredients. I also like browsing my friend Molly’s smoothie bowl collection. I’ve discovered that one of the best ways to get out of a food rut is to try a new combination.
THREE – I finally pulled the trigger on a Peloton bike. Guys, it’s worth the hype. I’ve done multiple different classes–I’m talking cycling, yoga, strength training and post-workout stretching. I’m a fan because you can completely customize your workout, from the music genre to seeing your personal performance stats in real time. For heaven’s sake, I did a Spice Girls themed ride this morning! Who knew and didn’t tell me? It was one of the most magical AND rewarding fitness experiences of my life. Sweating has never been this much fun.
If you’ve been on the fence about the purchase, I completely understand. It’s a large ticket item. But, now is a great time to make it happen. The bike is currently $400 off PLUS you can get an additional $100 to spend on accessories (like shoes, weights, etc.) by using my code 3MPJRU at checkout.
FOUR – To kick things up a notch, I’m adding these organic superfood mixes + plant-based protein powders to my daily smoothies. After two months of daily use, I’m confident they’re making a difference. My skin is brighter, my energy levels are higher and I actually look forward to whipping out my blender just so I can drink my ‘super’ powder.
You can find these mixes online at Target or Amazon. Their Moon Balance mix helps to naturally regulate your hormones, this cleansing bundle focuses on a full body detox and Forever Beautiful checks the hair, skin + nails box.
FIVE – The hardest and best thing I’ve done lately is reduce my diet soda consumption. After a scary stroke-like episode this spring, I was diagnosed with Complex Migraine Syndrome. I’m still in the research stages, but I’ve learned there are specific things that cause a change in my brain’s chemistry. The majority of my triggers are stress-related, but caffeine can be a factor. Instead of an afternoon Diet Coke, I’ve swapped in a can of sparkling water. AHA and Bubly are current top contenders. I’m also really loving this coconut sparkling water I found at our local Kroger store (aka Smith’s if you’re Utah local).
You’re next . . . What’s making YOU happy lately?
